KS A 0612 - Differential-Pressure Flow Measurement Method

Measurement of fluid flow by means of pressure differential devices (orifice plate, nozzle, venturi tube)
KS A 0612 is a Korean Industrial Standard specifying the method of measuring flow in closed conduits using differential-pressure primary devices such as orifice plates, nozzles and venturi tubes, corresponding to the international standard ISO 5167. Daehan Instruments' flow calculation sheets are prepared on the basis of ISO 5167 · KS A 0612 · JIS Z 8762 · ASME.

📋 Structure of the Standard

Detailed structure and scope of KS A 0612 - Differential-Pressure Flow Measurement Method

Scope · terminology

Defines the method of measuring flow with differential-pressure primary devices (orifice plates, nozzles, venturi tubes) when fluid flows full in a conduit of circular cross-section, together with the related terms and symbols.

Geometry of primary devices and tap positions

Specifies the geometry, dimensional tolerances, pressure tapping positions and finish conditions of concentric orifice plates (flange taps · corner taps · D-D/2 taps), nozzles and venturi tubes.

Installation requirements

Covers the minimum straight lengths upstream and downstream of the primary device, the conditions for piping elements (elbows, valves, reducers), and the conditions for using flow straighteners (Flow Conditioner).

Flow calculation · uncertainty

Presents the flow equation in terms of the discharge coefficient (C), expansion factor (ε) and diameter ratio β, and the method of estimating measurement uncertainty. Our flow calculation sheets are prepared according to this procedure.
